The Cape Town Pituitary Collaborative specialises in treating diseases of the pituitary gland. Pituitary tumours, non-functioning adenomas, acromegaly, prolactinoma and Cushing disease. In addition other pituitary disorders such as craniopharyngiomas, Rathke's cleft cysts, diabetes insipidus, hypopituitarism and lymphocytic hypophysitis are also managed by the committed team.
Outpatient examination and evaluation of disorders affecting the hypothalamus and pituitary gland.
Coordination of endocrine evaluations, radiological imaging, ophthalmological opinion, and surgical and radiation therapy consultations.
A unique diagnostic and therapeutic plan individually formulated for each patient and shared with the referring doctor.
Routine multidisciplinary conferences where complex cases are presented and reviewed.
Patients with pituitary disease have a complex condition that requires the co-ordinated care of numerous medical specialists. Rarely can pituitary conditions be handled comprehensively by a single doctor. At Cape Town Pituitary Collaborative the emphasis is on integrated team-based care. Neurosurgeon
DAVID ROYTOWSKI
David treats diseases of the brain, spine and nerves.
He has a particular interest in skull base surgeries and pituitary surgery. He holds an undergraduate and post-graduate degree from the University of Cape Town, and an MBA from INSEAD.
ENT Surgeon
PEDRO MONTEIRO
Pedro is a qualified ENT surgeon practicing at the New Netcare Christaan Barnard Hospital in Cape Town. He began his ENT specialisation in the UK, before returning to South Africa, qualifying from the University of Cape Town. His specialist interests are Rhinology and Anterior Skull Base Surgery.

ENT Surgeon
GARY KROUKAMP
Gary is an ENT Specialist, practicing from rooms at Kingsbury Hospital in Claremont, Cape Town.
He also has a teaching sessional appointment as an ENT Consultant at the Tygerberg Hospital, a tertiary teaching hospital associated with the University of Stellenbosch. His duties here are in teaching specialists in training and medical students.

MARIANTHY VAYANOS
Mary is an ophthalmologist in full-time private practice at the Netcare Christiaan Barnard.
She completed her undergraduate medical training at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg in 1997 and her specialist qualification from the University of Cape Town in 2007.
As a practice, we endeavour to offer the highest

Anaesthesiologist
NICK MEYERSFELD
Nick obtained his MBChB degree in 2003, his particular interest in neuroanaesthesia led him to spend four months as a medical officer in neurosurgery at Pretoria Academic Hospital.
He was awarded the Fellowship of the College of Anaesthesiologists of South Africa in 2011.
Nick was voted Consultant of the Year by the 2014 Anaesthetic registrar body. Nick is now a full time private anaesthetist with Southern Anaesthetics Association.
Oncologist
SARAH FAIRHEAD
Sarah is a Radiation Oncologist practicing at Netcare Christiaan Barnard Hospital. She has special interests in malignant and benign tumours of the central nervous system as well as specialized techniques in radiotherapy. Sarah believes a multidisciplinary team is imperative when caring for oncology patients.
